Nancy Sproul DeCosta of East Falmouth passed away on November 22 after battling lung disease. She was 84.

Born in Leominster to Walter and Mary Sproul, she graduated from Leominster High School in 1959 before moving to Falmouth in 1963.

She worked as a flight attendant for Northeast Airlines and as an administrative assistant at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. She later focused her time on family life as a stay-at-home mother to her three children and helped raise her four grandchildren.

She leaves her children, Douglas DeCosta of East Falmouth, Pamela Souza and her husband, Joseph, of Waquoit, and Lynn DeCosta of Falmouth; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Judith Sproul and Geraldine Ashe, both of Leominster.

She was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Thomas R. DeCosta.
