KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - The World Theatre is set to see some upgrades after funding from Give Where You Live.
This year, the organization is looking to raise $30,000 to make upgrades to the stage lighting and sound system. The funding will also go toward purchasing a power supply and keeping concession prices low.
Executive Director Mark Treadway said keeping the concession prices low is important because it goes back to the Theatre’s founding in 1927.
“We’ve always had affordable concessions, so that was part of our founder, John Bokenkamp’s wishes, was to keep that affordable so that the whole family can come,” Treadway said. “At the other theaters, you’re spending maybe $16 for a soda and popcorn along with your movie ticket.
