ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A routine noise complaint turned into a significant drug and weapons seizure Monday evening, according to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.

“We didn’t go out there with illegal narcotics in mind,” Ravenell said. “We went to this location because someone complained about noise.”

Deputies were called to Baugh Street just before 7 p.m. When they arrived, they noticed several weapons and what appeared to be marijuana inside a vehicle at the residence. That discovery prompted a search of both the vehicle and the apartment connected to it.

Investigators recovered more than 280 grams of marijuana—nearly 10 ounces—along with three firearms and multiple magazines, authorities said.

Two men, both from Orangeburg, were arrested.
