Ryan Yex, a 31-year-old from Ohio, was named "Erie's Funniest" at Kellar's Modern Magic and Comedy Club.

Yex, who has cerebral palsy, bases his comedy material on his life experiences with the condition.

Yex will open for comedian Tammy Pescatelli at Kellar's on Dec. 5-6.

After a multi-week competition to find the funniest comedian in the Erie area, Kellar's Modern Magic and Comedy Club at 1402 State St. has chosen a winner.

Ryan Yex , a 31-year-old from Brunswick, Ohio, won the title of "Erie's Funniest" on Nov. 27.

Yex, a comedian, bases his material purely off his experience living with cerebral palsy, a condition that affect movement and posture. Cerebral palsy is caused by damage that occurs to the developing brain, most often before birth.
