WAYNESBORO, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - A man has been arrested for allegedly tampering with evidence in a deadly shooting in Waynesboro, according to the Waynesboro Police Department.

On Nov. 20, police said Thomarus White had an active warrant for tampering with evidence in relation to a shooting that left Kennarius McBride dead after an altercation inside the Sunoco at 740 E. Seventh Street on Nov. 13.

He was booked into the Burke County Detention Center on Monday. According to inmate bookings, bond was denied.

McBride was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, officials said.

Investigators reviewed store surveillance footage that identified another man, Jalen Floyd Cox, as the suspect in the shooting.
