LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A 17-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with an October shooting on Ward Drive that left a 22-year-old man injured, according to Lexington Police.

Officers were called to the 700 block of Ward Drive on October 29, 2025, around 5:46 p.m. for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives later identified the suspect, and with the assistance of patrol officers, took the juvenile into custody on December 1, 2025. The 17-year-old is charged with first-degree assault and minor in possession of a handgun. They are currently being held at a juvenile detention center.
