A man is facing 32 charges, including impaired and dangerous driving, after a video caught a driver speeding down roads and driving the wrong way to escape officers in Vaughan.
Officers saw a vehicle driving “erratically” near York police headquarters on Rutherford Road around 2:40 a.m. on Saturday, police said in a Wednesday news release.
The driver of the minivan fled after officers tried to stop the vehicle, police said.
While fleeing, the driver steered at high speeds without headlights, drove through red lights and travelled the wrong way on Major Mackenzie Drive West, officials said.
The driver stopped near Dufferin Street and Teston Road , exited the minivan and attempted, but failed, to steal a vehicle parked in a home’s driveway, police said.
