Author Jillian Lauren has filed for divorce from her husband of 20 years, Weezer bassist Scott Shriner. This news comes months after a confrontation with the Los Angeles police that left her hospitalized with a gunshot wound.

Lauren, who is best known for her books “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem” and “Pretty”, filed the petition Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences, according to the Los Angeles Times .

The 52-year-old writer is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s two teenage sons and requesting spousal support. She is also asking the court to terminate its ability to award support to Shriner.
