CONYERS, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A 22-year-old gunman is in custody after opening fire inside and outside a busy Conyers restaurant during dinner hours, sending families diving for cover before barricading himself in his home for an hours-long standoff with police.
The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. Wednesday at Chiquitos Cantina and Grill on Old Salem Road SE. Police said the suspect, later identified as Bryan Rosas, pulled a gun inside the restaurant and started shooting during an argument at the bar.
Two witnesses fired back at the gunman, who then allegedly ran to the parking lot and fired more shots at the restaurant.
Rosas ran away from the scene and barricaded himself in his nearby home for hours, law enforcement said. A SWAT team forced its way in through broken windows
