Thursday is a WDSU First Warning Weather Alert Day as heavy rain & localized flash flooding expected. Friday is also a WDSU Weather Impact Day, as additional periods of downpours likely.

This whole mess starts overnight Wednesday-Thursday morning with off/on downpours likely for much of the day. There will be some breaks in the rain, but more hours will be wet than dry.

How much rain are we talking? It depends on which model you ask. Widespread 1-3" of rain expected Thursday-Saturday; however, hot spots of 3-5+" of rain possible. Isolated 7" amounts if bands of rain train over the same areas for several hours.

Friday will see more breaks than Thursday, but expect to dodge periods of rain.
