The Arizona Attorney General’s Office notified Gilbert on Dec. 2 that it has cleared town council of an open meetings law complaint related to a mayoral campaign event and a town hall meeting in 2024.
The office notified Gilbert Town Attorney Chris Payne that it closed the complaint after an investigation.
Mayor Scott Anderson welcomed the news.
“This decision reaffirms what we have said all along: our administration is committed to transparency, accountability, and serving the people with integrity,” he said in a statement released through the town. “I hope this outcome allows us to move forward together, focusing on the real work of building a stronger community.”
