BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Crews are putting the finishing touches on a first-of-its-kind center in North Baton Rouge, with a little over a month left until its doors open.

The Inspiration Center at Howell Park will offer a variety of services focusing on job readiness, education, youth mentorship, sports, and health and wellness for North Baton Rouge families.

Former Police Chief Jeff LeDuff said the space has transformed from what he remembers.

“BREC hadn’t invested what they’ve invested at that time. This is a place where children were scared to come, parents were afraid to send their children,” LeDuff said.
