MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -A Madison plant store shares how to protect your greenery ahead of Thursday’s frigid temperatures.

“There is nothing worst than getting a beautiful plant that’s thriving then getting home then it’s not because it didn’t get to wear a jacket like you did,” said Tiffany Olson, owner of Madison Greenhouse Store.

Olson said plants can die within minutes if they are exposed to really cold temperatures. During the coldest months of the year she covers them in plastic bags for customers.

“It’s a lot of plastic, but it’s important for the plants to survive their trip home. They made it all the way here from either Florida or Canada,” Olson said.

Meanwhile, Olson does not have to do much in store to keep temperatures regulated.
