DUBUQUE, Iowa — Sundown Mountain Resort is set to kick off its 53rd season on Friday with operating hours from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Regular hours will then commence on Saturday and continue through December 20 before the resort transitions to extended holiday hours.
Over the past week, the resort’s Mountain Operations team has utilized the cold weather to make snow, ensuring a safe and durable base for the season. While natural snowfall has contributed to the early-season excitement, snowmaking is crucial for maintaining consistent terrain throughout winter.
To celebrate the opening, Sundown is offering a $15 discount on lift tickets this weekend with the donation of a new, unwrapped toy valued at $10 or more for Toys for Tots. This offer is available in person at the ticket window, with one
