LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) – As temperatures fall into the negatives this week, local mechanics are urging drivers to check their vehicles before the cold causes problems.
Murphy's Frame & Axle mechanic Noah Murphy said the sudden drop in temperatures can expose issues that may not show up during warmer months.
"Getting your belts, hoses checked out—your tires, your windshield wipers are going to be huge," Murphy said. "Those are kind of your main things."
The cold weathe r is already creating challenges for some drivers.
The garage’s ow ner told 19 News that several people came in Wednesday with battery issues.
One of them was William Cox, a La Crosse resident whose truck didn't start after a quick stop.
