Raccoon Breaks Into Virginia Liquor Store, Passes Out After Overnight Binge

Early Saturday morning in Ashland, Virginia, employees arriving to open a local ABC liquor store were met with a scene they never expected to see. Instead of the quiet store they anticipated, they found a raccoon lying unconscious on the bathroom floor. Sometime during the night, the animal had broken into the building, rummaged through shelves, and sampled several types of alcohol before collapsing from the effects.

Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter officers were quickly called to the scene. When they arrived, the raccoon was unresponsive but breathing, clearly showing signs of intoxication.
