SAN ANTONIO — When a Texas trooper tried to pull over a pickup truck along Applewhite Road in south San Antonio for an alleged traffic violation, officials say it devolved into a brief barricade situation.

It started around 6:30 p.m., when the Texas Department of Public Safety trooper was trying to stop a 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, according to the agency. Instead, the only person inside the truck – an unidentified 32-year-old man – "stopped near a residence before fleeing inside" in the 12800 block of Applewhite, near the South Zarzamora intersection.

"Troopers issued multiple lawful commands for the individual to exit the home, which he refused," a DPS spokesperson said.

Authorities were nonetheless able to identify the suspect before leaving the scene; officials say they plan to file
