LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Ahead of this holiday season, UofL Health leaders hope they can now give more modern but still compassionate care with their brand new West Tower.

Special guests, nurses and doctors filled the new lobby of the $186 million, seven-story building on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Hospital system leaders described their vision of the front entrance, saying they also want patients’ loved ones to feel at ease knowing relatives will find quality healthcare.

“It solves the problems that we have from overcrowding, and have had for so long,” said UofL Health CEO Dr. Jason Smith. “(A) promise to every patient and every physician who walks through this door, that we’ll give them the space that reflects the care that we want to deliver to them.”
