A fleeing suspect smashed head-first into a lamppost after being clothes-lined by a heroic bystander. There was instant Karma for the alleged crook as he tries to sprint away from cops who chased him down a busy high street.

The footage – taken in the early hours last Saturday – shows the man speeding away from the copper on Broad Street, a busy shopping street in Birmingham.
