Child Benefit and Guardian's Allowance payment rates will increase starting in April 2026, following the government's Autumn Budget announcement. The rise is based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of 3.8% from September 2025. Parents are also being urged to utilize the Tax-Free Childcare scheme to save up to £2,000 per year on approved costs.
Benefit Rate Increase: HMRC has confirmed that Child Benefit and Guardian's Allowance payments will increase starting from April 2026 . The payments will rise in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rate of 3.8% from September 2025.
New Child Benefit Rates: The rate for the eldest child will increase from £26.05 to £27.05 per week . For each additional child, the rate will rise from £17.25 to £17.90 per week .
