Aberdeen have been handed a boost ahead of their Conference League clash with Strasbourg after the French Ligue 1 side dropped their star striker and captain ahead of their visit to Pittodrie .

Chelsea-bound Emmanuel Emegha has been disciplined and left out of the squad for this weekend's clash with Toulouse in France's top flight.

His punishment is for one game as things stand, with the 22-year-old currently set to come back into Liam Rosenior's squad for the Granite City clash next Thursday, reports Record Sport .

A Strasbourg statement read: "Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace has decided to suspend Emmanuel Emegha for its next Ligue 1 match, this Saturday December 6 in Toulouse.
