Scouts from Pack 538 in Ida visited Monroe on Tuesday, Dec. 2, to help feed the hungry this holiday season.
Clara Arnold and Noah Watts, members of the Arrow of Light den, came with their parents to St. Paul's Episcopal Church to volunteer with God Works Family Soup Kitchen, a non-profit that makes and serves dinners to anyone who shows up at one of their locations.
"It feels good, like, giving back to other people, it's nice," Watts said. "I like it."
The trip helps the two meet two of the requirements of their den. They have to go out and do some community service and get an understanding of how religions serve their communities. With God Works being a non-denominational non-profit that serves meals in host churches, this handily filled both requirements.
