FAYETTEVILLE -- Adia Barnes ruffled some feathers in the women's college basketball world in April.

Fresh off nine seasons coaching Arizona, her alma mater, Barnes accepted the SMU job for a fresh start. She was among 10 new coaches hired at power conference schools.

As for some of the other nine hires, including Kelsi Musick at Arkansas? Consider Barnes unimpressed.

Arkansas (Musick from Oral Roberts), Arizona State (Molly Miller from Grand Canyon) and Auburn (Larry Vickers from Norfolk State) dipped into the mid-major pool to find their new leader. Arizona followed the same suit for Barnes' replacement by hiring Becky Burke away from Buffalo.

During a media availability four days after her hiring, Barnes took a jab at those programs.
