1BERGENFIELD, NJ – Two key Bergenfield intersections were closed Thursday after malfunctioning railroad gates forced police to shut down traffic for safety reasons.
According to the Bergenfield Police Department, the crossings at New Bridge Road and West Clinton Avenue are closed until further notice.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes while crews address the issue.
Repairs under way to restore safe operations
Authorities did not specify how long the closures will remain in place but said maintenance teams have been notified and are working to fix the malfunctioning gates. Police are stationed in the area to assist with traffic redirection.
Motorists should expect delays and detours throughout the affected area until normal operations resume.
