So far, Mitchell Weber's debut season as girls basketball coach at Paragould has gone the way he envisioned it would.
The Lady Rams have alternated wins and losses in their first seven games, but that's a promising sign for a team that didn't experience much success the previous two seasons.
Paragould went 52-27 from 2020-23, which included a pair of state tournament berths. However, the Lady Rams finished a combined 5-50 in the two seasons since then before deciding to go in a different direction last spring.
The path led them to Weber, who transformed two other teams into legitimate contenders in their respective classifications beforehand. He took Rector to the postseason multiple times over a five-year stint as coach and guided it to a No. 6 final ranking in Class 2A during the 2021
