BRYANT -- Five Bryant Hornets signed football national letters of intent early Wednesday, the opening day of the NCAA early signing period.

Four-star running back Terry "TJ" Hodges, 3-star linebacker Jakore Smith, 4-star defensive lineman Matthew Nelson and 3-star wide receivers Caleb Tucker and Kamauri Austin each signed with Division I programs at the Hornets' field house.

Hodges and Smith both signed with new University of Arkansas Coach Ryan Silverfield, while Nelson stuck to his commitment with Oklahoma, despite speculation of a potential switch.

Two Razorback signees followed similar paths to Wednesday's celebration. They both transferred to Bryant prior to this season and were committed to play elsewhere until recently -- Hodges from Marked Tree and to Missouri, Smith from Little
