NEW ORLEANS — Jefferson Parish officials have canceled Christmas in the Park due to . With more rounds of rain expected through Saturday, organizers said "cancellations may be possible for Friday".
The holiday event lights up Lafreniere Park with millions of LEDs, snow, and fun interactive displays like Marvel and DC heroes, Minions, Disney princesses, and Star Wars favorites. Kids can peek at Santa's elves in the mail center, and Santa, Rudolph, Frosty, and the Grinch will make appearances Friday through Sunday.
Christmas in the Park runs nightly through Dec. 30, except Christmas Day when the park will be closed.
Organizers said driving and walking tours are available. Tickets are $20 per vehicle in advance, $25 at the gate, and must be purchased online. Cash is not accepted.
