A mother who tragically found her 16-month-old daughter dead in her cot is urging parents to trust their instincts when their children show even subtle signs of illness.
Lisa Fifield, 36, from Liverpool, now living between Essex and Spain, described her daughter Ophelia Lily Ada Fifield, born on October 5, 2023, as an “old soul” who was happy, sociable, and obsessed with bananas.
“She was really peaceful, like an old soul. She trusted people, loved laughing, and very rarely cried,” Lisa said. “She was a very strong baby—even when teething, she wouldn’t really cry. She loved bananas—you’d never seen anything like it. She’d eat one in two seconds.”
