Brandon University is celebrating one of the largest and most heartfelt gifts in its history, a nearly $1.1-million donation that isn’t just expanding a scholarship, but carrying forward a love story, a family legacy, and a belief in what education can unlock.

The gift comes from Michael N. Chernoff, a longtime supporter who now lives in West Vancouver but still speaks of the Prairies the way others speak of home. His donation dramatically expands the Chernoff Family Award, one of BU’s most prestigious entrance scholarships, and it’s all in honour of someone he still calls the centre of his world.
