POUGHKEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie Pioneers varsity basketball team opened its home schedule on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 87–86 overtime victory over the Mahopac Wolf Pack, supported by a strong turnout from the home crowd. The Pioneers made key plays late in regulation and again in overtime, using the energy in the gym to edge out Mahopac and secure their first home win of the year.
Victor Nelson led the team with 33 points, scoring 28 in the second half and overtime to carry the Pioneers through critical moments. Tyrone DuBois added 23 points, providing consistent scoring throughout the game, while Tazjir Gary contributed 14.
