STATEWIDE — Skywatchers across much of the United States will have the chance to see the final full moon of 2025 Thursday evening, a Cold Supermoon that will appear larger and brighter than any other moon this year.
The moon reaches peak fullness at 6:15 p.m. EST, marking the third consecutive supermoon in a rare sequence of four. Supermoons occur when the moon is within 90% of perigee, the closest point in its orbit to Earth, making it appear up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than the faintest moons of the year, according to NASA.
