One of the worst traffic bottlenecks in Brantford is about to be added to the city’s downtown infrastructure renewal project.
City councillors on Tuesday recommended adding the widening of Clarence Street between Dalhousie and Colborne streets to the renewal project despite the complications and anticipated expense.

“There’s no question it’s a difficult job to do because of the railway tracks and having to move hydro poles,” said Mayor Kevin Davis, who called the intersection at Clarence and Colborne streets one of the city’s worst choke point for traffic. “It’s not going to come cheap but frankly, this project, I think is a great bargain of value to our community at any price.”
