GATLINBURG, Tenn. (WLOX) - A Gulfport Police sergeant was arrested in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, according to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) jail docket.

The docket says 33-year-old Joseph Prine, Jr. was arrested in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 3.

Prine’s charges are listed as driving under the influence, violation of open container laws, and carrying a weapon while under the influence.

A source says Prine was driving his patrol car at the time of his arrest.

WLOX News reached out to Gulfport Police Department for comment. A spokesperson told us the department is “aware of an off duty incident that recently occurred involving one of our employees out of state and we are going to be looking into this as a personnel matter.”
