TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A Liberty County man was found guilty of attempted murder after firing shots at federal agents trying to execute a search warrant, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced.
John Caleb Allen, 26, of Bristol, was found guilty of ten total charges, including two attempted murder charges.
According to evidence presented at trial, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) had been investigating Allen for selling illegal machine gun conversion devices.
As part of the investigation, ATF bought a firearm and a conversion device from Allen through a source. ATF then got a federal search warrant for Allen’s house.
