Police have charged a woman in one of two shootings in Waterbury over the weekend that landed a man in the hospital.

Jessica Towels, 39, of Meriden was charged after investigators identified her as the suspect in an early morning shooting on Saturday that injured a 39-year-old man, Sgt. Joseph Morais of the Waterbury Police Department said in a statement Thursday.

Police obtained a warrant charging her with first-degree criminal attempt at assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, criminal use of a weapon, negligent storage of a firearm, third-degree criminal mischief, first-degree reckless endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.

Towels is free on a $300,000 bond and is scheduled to face a judge on Dec. 12.
