FORDSVILLE, Ky. – Some quick actions likely saved several businesses in Fordsville from a fire, according to fire officials.
The Fordsville Fire Department says crews responded Thursday to a reported smell of smoke.
Fire personnel say upon arrival, they located a small business filled with smoke.
Upon entering the building, fire officials say they found a cardboard display inside of the business on fire. Crews removed those displays and extinguished the fire.
The fire department says the cause of the fire was determined to be a space heater plugged into an extension cord, along with the display on the cord.
The Fordsville Fire Department says quick thinking from passerby to contact 911 and a fast response may have saved multiple area businesses, including the area’s diner.
