President Donald Trump is facing backlash again for renaming a State Department building after himself.
The State Department announced on Wednesday that it renamed its Institute of Peace to the "Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace." It shared a photo of the building that now has Trump’s name written across it.
“This morning, the State Department renamed the former Institute of Peace to reflect the greatest dealmaker in our nation’s history.Welcome to the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace. The best is yet to come,” the State Department said in a statement on X.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio also praised the move in a statement.
“President Trump will be remembered by history as the President of Peace. It’s time our State Department display that,” Rubio said on X.
