Thousands of True Wireless earbuds have been recalled across Canada due to burn and fire hazards.
The headphones, sold at Giant Tiger, were listed in a recall notice issued Thursday. According to the recall, the USB charging cords were built with incorrect wiring material and may overheat when plugged in, posing a risk of burn and fire.
A total of 16,278 units of the recalled products were sold in Canada, the company said, noting it received three reports of incidents in Canada, none of which involved injuries.
The affected lots were sold between July 17 and Oct. 14 with the Universal Product Code (UPC) 774223568363 and stock keeping unit (SKU) 1545426, both of which appear on the packaging.
