A police search has been launched for a missing Sunderland man, who is 5ft 3ins and has a neck tattoo. Officers are appealing for information to help locate the missing man as his family are concerned.

Northumbria Police has named the man only as 'Darren', and say he was last seen in the Thorndale Road, area of Thorney Close at about 10.45am today (Thursday). Officers and his family are growing increasingly concerned for the 50-year-old's welfare.
