A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of another 22-year-old following an alleged street stabbing. The victim, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by the police, received emergency treatment at the scene but tragically succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The suspect, Kevon Jenkins, has been charged with murder and possession of a pointed and bladed article. He is scheduled to appear at Highbury Magistrates’ Court later today.
According to a statement from the Metropolitan Police, officers were called to the scene at approximately 12:55hrs on Monday, 1 December, after receiving reports of a stabbing. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the victim was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.
Jenkins was arrested on suspicion of murder the following day, Tuesday, 2 December. Additionally, a 21-year-old woman was arrested at the same time on suspicion of assisting an offender. She has since been released on bail while investigations continue.
