MILLERSBURG, Ore. - The Linn County Sheriff's Office is investigating a dramatic incident involving a DUII crash and weapons offense early Thursday morning.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to reports of gunshots and found a white Honda Civic overturned in a farm field near Groshong Road. The driver, 22-year-old Dylan Xiong of Albany, was discovered hanging upside down, still strapped to his seatbelt.
Deputies freed Xiong and detained him for medical evaluation. During the investigation, Xiong admitted to firing 15-30 rounds from a handgun. Authorities noted he appeared intoxicated and was firing randomly.
Xiong is now in custody at the Linn County Jail, facing charges including Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Reckless Driving.
