BUCKEYE, Ariz. — A 10-year-old boy was found in possession of a gun after police officers were dispatched to a West Valley park on Wednesday.
At about 5:45 p.m. on Dec. 3, Buckeye police responded to a report of a group of males handling a gun at a park near Sundance Parkway and 219th Lane.
Upon arrival, police located a 10-year-old who was allegedly found to have a handgun inside a backpack. The firearm reportedly matched the description provided by witnesses.
A 16-year-old boy was also identified by police for allegedly being involved.
Police said the 10-year-old was released to a guardian and the 16-year-old was taken into custody. Both are facing weapons misconduct charges.
