Parents and community members raised several different concerns with the proposed artificial turf fields expected for installation at Brighton High School.

The project would construct new varsity baseball and softball fields in the existing sporting complex at the high school, where unfenced grass runs up to the back of neighboring residential properties.

What does the Brighton field project entail?

The design approved for the fields includes a baseball field and softball field with synthetic turf, with lines and dimensions to support soccer and other rectangular sports fields. The fields would be built in proximity so they could share pathways and eventually other amenities like a press box.
