MILLER, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - The Hand County courthouse is celebrating its 100th Christmas in Miller, SD.
The courthouse was built in 1925 and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historical Places. The 100-year-old courthouse will be highlighted during the annual Christmas on the Prairie on Dec. 4.
Local businesses participate in the event every year by decorating the entire building with Christmas trees, decorations, and holiday festivities.
Decorating began on Nov. 17, and this year, 51 trees lined the building.
The event kicks off at 4:00 p.m. with a craft show, with Santa Claus arriving at 5:00 p.m.
Member businesses will be at the event for spectators to visit from 5:00-8:00 p.m., including:
