Businesses in Cornwall and SDG affected by shifting global trade trends now have a new opportunity for support.
The Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI) is accepting applications, and an online information session to help businesses and non-profits understand the program has been announced.

The RTRI was launched in March 2025 with $450 million in federal government funding, and in September that total grew to $1 billion over three years. In Cornwall, it’s being administered by FedDev Ontario.
The program is designed for small and medium-sized businesses, as well as non-profits, that have been impacted by trade disruptions spurred from administrative changes in the U.S. since the start of 2025. Companies impacted by Chinese tariffs are also eligible.
