BELOIT, Wis. (WKOW) — A nationwide arrest warrant has been issued for a Madison man accused in a deadly shooting in Beloit.
Clifton M. Jones, 42, is charged in Rock County Circuit Court with second-degree reckless injury with use of a dangerous weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm.
The shooting happened around 3 a.m. on Oct. 2 in the 1500 block of White Avenue. A 51-year-old Beloit man was found with a gunshot wound and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. A second person, a 41-year-old Beloit man, also suffered a gunshot wound but survived.
Police said the crime was an isolated incident inside a home where a group had gathered before the shooting.
The Beloit Police Department is collaborating with local, state, and federal law enforcement to apprehend Jones.
