GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A Steelcase shareholder who sued the furniture giant to block its $2.2 billion sale to HNI Corp. has withdrawn the lawsuit.
Attorney Walter B. Fisher, who represented plaintiff Dean Drulias, has issued a voluntary dismissal of the lawsuit with prejudice, meaning the charges cannot be brought up again in the future, court records show.
The dismissal was filed Nov. 26 in the 17th Circuit Court of Kent County, just one week before Steelcase shareholders were supposed to vote to close the $2.2 billion acquisition.
Drulias, a Steelcase shareholder since 2016, had sued the company in an attempt to block the vote until there was full disclosure of the “questionable economics” and “troubling motivations and conflicts of interest.”
