Penn State’s football program can scratch another big name off its list of potential head coaching candidates.

Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer just laid to rest any possibility of him becoming Penn State’s next permanent head coach.

DeBoer was asked Thursday about his thoughts on people “linking” him to the open Penn State job.

“There’s never been any link (to Penn State),” said DeBoer in a story posted on AL.com

DeBoer’s 10-2 Crimson Tide face 11-1 Georgia in the SEC title game on Saturday.

“There’s never been any conversation. There’s never been any interest either way. And I’m so glad we can put that to bed right now.”

DeBoer also added that his family is “happy” at Alabama.

“Love the challenge,” DeBoer said. “Love the grind. Love this place.”
