LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Emergency personnel responded to two separate crashes on Capitol Parkway on Thursday in front of Lincoln High School. In total, 4 vehicles were involved and 3 people were taken to the hospital.
Lincoln Fire and Rescue was called to the crash near Capitol Parkway and J Street at 8:46 a.m.
Thursday night, Lincoln Police shared that a Nissan Maxima and Chrysler Town and Country van collided while driving east on Capitol Parkway.
As both drivers got out to look at the damage, a third vehicle - a Volkswagen - slowed to stop behind the original accident to merge over. While merging, a fourth driver of a Ford Focus was “blinded by the sun and couldn’t see stopped traffic,” hitting the Volkswagen.
The force of that collision pushed the Volkswagen into the Chrysler.
