UPDATE: Hamilton County commissioners voted 6-5 against a resolution designed to correct a costly mistake. This would have been a nearly half-million-dollar loan over 10 years to the city of Red Bank, to make up for some of the funds lost after a miscalculation by the Hamilton County Property Assessor of a new tax rate.

Commissioners also rejected an amended proposal for a $350,000 loan over four years.

Residents of Red Bank shared their opinions at the meeting.

"[I was] shocked," said Kathy Lennon, who's lived in the city for around a decade. "I was really hoping that they would want to pass the resolution, because it was a mistake that was made not by us, but by the assessor of property."
